What do you say when someone lets their dog "doo" on a trail and then just walks away? Have you ever had the guts to say something?

Okay now I am talking to myself...but one time I didn't say anything and just handed a poop bag to a person. Rude???

I just pull out one of the extra bags that I always carry, smile graciously, and say "Do you need a bag to pick that up?". I haven't had anyone refuse to pick up the waste yet, and I'm not sure what I would do if they did. Probably inquire if they really enjoy drinking feces-tainted water, since much of this waste ends up being washed directly into our local waterways that give us our supply of drinking water. What an icky picture, but its true!

So Thursday I ventured to the beach and a couple in front of me let their dog ditty on the beach and they kept on walking. I could either run up to them and give them a bag or clean it up myself. I cleaned it up myself. Extra handwashing after that. Geez. People!

I have not touched on this issue for a while, but this past weekend I was at a soccer game in Cotati. Before the team could even take the field, the players had to walk around and clean up several piles of dog poop. Come on people. If you want to lose the privilege of being able to run your dogs on these fields, then CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG!!!!
