I am considering sending my dog to a day care/boarding place during our vacation. Looking into Camp Bow Wow and Anderson Acres. Anyone have any feedback on these places or any other suggestions? My dog is a 13 month old mini dachshund.
I do know a dog walker that lives by the Ralyes on Fulton Bld. She boards dogs and they have the run of the house. That is if they are house broken. She is a vet tech. With a walk it's about 40 dollars a day. Most of the time she walks around Spring Lake. The vets office is on West Steel Lane. She treats your dog as one of her own. Run of her home. Her daycare 27 dollars a day.
If Petaluma is not out of your way I recommend Fit-n-Furry. We just had our, newly adopted, dog Max stay there for 7 days while my husband was in the hospital and they were (are) amazing. He is also enrolled in doggie day care and loves it.
At Cotati's Camp K9 monday, a dog was mauled, with a sad and tragic fatal outcome, by another boarding guest who had escaped its enclosure. staff was unaware of the incident until dog's family came to retrieve it and it couldn't be found. Can't believe that the sounds of the attack weren't heard. One wonders what kind of supervision goes on that such a thing could happen, unnoticed. Reluctant to add to breed-profiling as I am, the aggressor was of a breed known to be more people-than-dog oriented. I am sure that that facility is as dumbstruck as the owners are heartbroken. Maybe these things happen more commonly than we realize. ACC is investigating.
Although I board at Petaluma's Dairydell when absolutely necessary I would much rather leave my dog with a friend and neighbor for this very reason.
