RE: Link
If everyone in Cotati spent all or most of their money in Cotati, what would the town look like? Think about it. Do you want Cotati to look like Rohnert Park? Getting out of town and enjoying life outside Cotati is one reason the town has retained its funky, small town character. Lloyd Draper doesn't get it. For those who stepped up to the plate to volunteer on boards of directors of local organizations and commissions, but were refused because you did not first go kiss the hand of Pru Draper for her blessings knows of which I speak. You either play the game in Cotati, or you don't and suffer the consequences. Cotati is filled with lots of folks who have made a nice living on the town's corruption and turning a blind eye to town drunk who oddly become Citizen of the Year. Lloyd Draper claims he has lived in Cotati for 60 years. He then deserves both the praises and the criticism for the mess the town w finds itself in. In the town's darkest hour, Lloyd only finds time to deliver cheap pot shots at the one elected official who has not bowed down and kissed his feet for his divine approval. Despite these self-serving citizens who praise Susan Harvey for having her hand out to anyone who will grease it, many people will not be fooled no matter how this election turns out. The battle for Cotati's soul will continue to be played out and the frauds will be exposed for who and what they are. It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. I give Cotati more credit to see through the dark side and the Drapers and their propaganda. |

Excellent. Oh and Lloyd Draper - a simple google search reveals that you never liked Barich in the first place. |

"We are losing our individual freedoms and liberties at a alarming rate" What are you even talking about? What freedoms and liberties have you lost since Obama became President? Do you live in the United States? because I live in California and I haven't lost any individual liberties or freedoms lately.

You are losing freedoms every day especially in California. The progressive politicians are forever passing laws and are making land use decisions that restrict what you can buy and who you can buy from, what kind of bags you can us, weather you can smoke in your own home, what kind of TV you can buy and on and on and on. We are being smothered by unnecessary laws and regulations passed by these control freaks that are seriously limiting our freedoms. The same mindset is in Washington and it won't be long until we are completely oppressed and controlled in virtually every aspect of our lives. |
Good job. It won't be long until we completely ignore laws and just live our lives in private communities exclusive of communists and bigots. |

I live in a democratic republic where "the politicians" are representatives who have been elected by the citizens. I am extremely happy with the restrictions that have been put in place regarding the kind of TVs people can buy, bags they can use and where they can smoke.
Obviously the people who did not vote for these representatives are unhappy with their decisions. There will be another election in the future where we will all have an opportunity to vote again. That's the American Way. It is called democracy. Of course some unpatriotic citizens don't like our democratic system of government where representatives who are elected by the majority make the laws. The democratic system does not allow everyone to do what ever suits them. What you seem to prefer would be anarchy. That is very un-American! |

I prefer the type of governments in place in almost every other state in the union that doesn't limit personal freedoms at the drop of a hat. I prefer governments that perform the duties that they are mandated to perform and no more. These people can pass their laws but many will not follow them. I will buy the tv I choose out of state. I will not shop in cities that ban plastic bags but will shop in cities that allow personaL FREEDOM. If I choose to smoke in my home any one that tries to stop me will meet severe resistance. I choose to not live by their rules because they have too many of them that are not necessary. I ordered all of my fixtures out of state because of the low flow requirements here. I purchased my lawn tractor out of state because of Californias stupid restrictions that drive the cost up. These fools can make all the rules they want but they do no good unless every state does it. Thank God for internet shopping because it allows sanity to remain in this insane state. |

So we are over regulated? I suggest we designate a section of freeway to be "self regulated" and see what portion of good honest citizens still obey the speed limit. Regulations (laws) are a necessity. And government has spent, stimulated, bailed out, legislated, etc. just so it can grow, control and regulate our lives? The bailouts and stimulus were necessitated by a system run amok. If nothing had been done the system would have collapsed. There goes your 401K, pension and life savings. Easy to be critical but I suspect you'd have been just as critical if nothing had been done!

I'm not talking about the big things like the bail out and the stimulus. I am talking about all of the little laws passed by the little people in the local governments and this state that eat away at our freedom of choice. What kind of TV we can buy, what kind of bags we can use, what kind of stores we can shop at. I am sick of these little people dictating how we live and trying to force everyone to live in their little perfect world like they owned it. Government should not pass laws lightly. People that are over regulated will resist regulation. That is the point we are reaching in Northern California. Government needs to back off and take their que from the rest of the country and leave us the f*** alone. |

"I am talking about all of the little laws passed by the little people in the local governments"
As far as I know these little people in the local government are elected by the majority of the voters. When the majority disagree with them, they will be voted out. That's how democracy works. |
Very true and I will continue to ignore them and to sabotage them at every opportunity and to do what I can to ensure their failure until they are gone. That's how I work. |
