All this shows is that if WE, the PEOPLE, would be allowed to carry a loaded firearm, WE could protect OURSELVES.
The only reason we have/need cops is because the CA state legislature, back in the late '60's-early '70's passed a law making it illegal to carry a loaded firearm (cops got scared of Black Panthers carrying loaded rifles).
Since then, WE, the PEOPLE, have been disarmed.
If this 'woman' cop could protect herself, then anybody can (OK excluding babies and frail elderly).
P.S. The criminals already carry loaded firearms, so exclude them too.
I want to say that leaving politics out of all of this, that young lady is an absolute hero. As were all of the people that gave their life and suffered injuries at fort hood. I am not political and hate the idea of war. But I support our men and women fully in the armed forces. I wish there was a word that could actually say how I feel. Bless all of those brave men and women and know that the real America stands by you.

Criminals carry firearms? But I thought carrying concealed weapons without a permit was illegal!
