Surprised? I'm surprised? Which side are you surprised at? Definitely not George Barich. He is a College Educated, well informed, articulate person. Guess most that have been spouting off just haven't paid attention to anything but their own Levine/Limbaugh ranting type of returic. George campaigned on change. Wow, didn't we just elect a President that campaigned on the same? What part of change and difference didn't they understand? The people up for election to George's spot were met with and coached by the Recall advocates so as not to do anymore damage to their effort. Treat him with respect, they were told. Don't attack.
One of the "truth stretching" that the recall advocates want you to believe is that George kept the citizens of Cotati from voting for a 1/2 cent tax hike. One of the things they "forgot" to tell you is that there was actually no vote on this issue. What George voted against was the Council declaring a "State of Financial Emergency". The council had to pass this first in order to even consider a vote to add the sales tax to the ballot. His postition is that we haven't passed a budget, how can we know if we have an emergency to add a tax increase. By the time the council, again with George opposed, passed a budget that is $250,000 in the RED, it was too late to add the tax increase measure to the ballot..
Yes, George's council wage is on the books waiting for him. He was told by city legal experts that they cannot take the money back, it has to stay in holding. He has asked that it go into the general fund to pay city vendors, again he was told this cannot be done. The recall fanatics stretch and distort the facts so badly, I don't think they can remember all their stories anymore....Be at the Park tomorrow for the NO ON RECALL BBQ, SATURDAY NOV 7. VOTE FOR FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLITY. SUPPORT GEORGE BARICH and let him finish out his elected term..

> recalls are for removing members of the council who have broken the law

No, that's impeachment, where you need articles of impeachment substantiating what law(s) you contend were broken. Recalls are for anybody who has the political goo to get it on the ballot.

> is your conscience clear?

Clear as a bell! You give me waaay too much credit if you think *I* am "creating such division in this town". I'm pretty sure that not more than four or five people in this town know that I exist.

> nothing more than a personal vendetta

When you get right down it, every casting of a ballot is a personal vendetta...

The liberals have no ethics or morals to uphold. That's why they set their bar on the ground. That's the problem with liberalism. No agreed upon mores. No values. No ethics. Nothing but their opinions and we know about opinions don't we?
