(writing from France) I saw a cool, official-looking sign the other day, posted at a handicapped parking space here in France. It said "Si tu veux mon space, prends mon handicap." Translates to: If you want my space, take my handicap.

how many parking enforcement officers are there? the only female officer i've seen is very pregnant.

I am so happy this man got a ticket. I see these areas abused all the time. One trick the person with the handicap sits in the car and the person who walks fine goes in the store. People loaning our their placks. I have reported people many times and the stores say not my problem call the police. One lady uses her husbands. I told her she was taking up a spot someone who could not walk and she said oh well it's my husbands so it's kinda for the family. I seen one man pull up let 3 teen agers out of the car put up the handi cap sign and sat there. This is not for lazy people it's for people who have trouble walking or not able to walk at all. Some guy sold one on craigs list. Maybe they should have to have some special I.D. with their picture on it This is truly one law that is broken all the time and shame on the ones doing it.

I have the disabled plates because of leg injuries. I use it sometimes but if I'm feeling good I don't use it and just enjoy the walk.

One time I was at Kaiser. I took one of the kids and was waiting for her. I was parked in a non handicap space. A lady came up to me demanding that I move to a handicap spot so she could have the regular spot. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

These spaces are widely abused. It used to really piss me off but now I just accept it and only hope that karma will give them their payback later in life.

I applaud the parking enforcement because I'm tired of seeing these pompous, lazy individuals park in handicapped spots. At my bank, one of these elitist losers took a handicapped spot an older gentleman was about to take. He had to park quite a distance and hobble to get to the bank.

Anyone caught in the a handicapped spot should be fined $1000 and serve 30 days in jail. Then these spaces can get back to helping those who need them, instead of allowing Fat, Lazy Joe American a good parking space.

While we are at it, lets tighten up on who gets the Handicap Plates. Just because your on welfare and eat junk food and weigh 300 lbs should not be a reason to have special parking...
