Comparing Rush Limbaugh to Sen. McCarthy is right on!
Both men are unapologetic patriots, and great Americans.

You, on the other hand, are pond scum.

Interesting how the Repugnican Party is trying to rebuild after their devastating losses by appealing to the electorate with the lowest possible IQ

Rush Limbaugh - the Joseph McCarthy of the 21st century.

Sorry, but your comments are just too stupid to warrant a reaction. Here's another look at your leader...

Thank you for admitting what a great man Joe McCarthy was!

Your silence speaks volumes.

n.hamata, thanks for the myspace link. Ricky boy does have a disability. His myspace page contains the following comment slightly edited *** for public review.

Something is f***ed off with my brain. I'm not quite sure what it is yet, but the last thing my doctor suggested before Medi-Cal f***ed me over was temporal lobe epilepsy because it fits the symptoms and makes perfect sense. Lame, right? Who would have thought a good knock on the head at 7 would make a difference more than 15 years later? If you witness child abuse of any kind, please report it... seriously, we don't need any more people running around with brain injuries just waiting to grow up to be completely f***ing insane. I told her she was taking up a spot someone who could not walk and she said oh well it's my husbands so it's kinda for the family. I seen one man pull up let 3 teen agers out of the car put up the handi cap sign and sat there. This is not for lazy people it's for people who have trouble walking or not able to walk at all. Some guy sold one on craigs list. Maybe they should have to have some special I.D. with their picture on it This is truly one law that is broken all the time and shame on the ones doing it.

I agree, I see people abusing the spaces a lot however, you have to remember that "what you see is not always what you get", so to speak. Two examples that come to mind:

1. My stroke a few years ago caused temp. paralysis in my upper right side & arm. Although I didn't venture out too much, the Dr. issued me a placard for about 6 mos. so I could use it while I underwent phys. therapy. If you'd seen me get out of my car, you'd have had no idea there was anything wrong with me because my legs worked just fine.

2. My mother-in-law was unable to ambulate w/o a walker & up until she passed away, I was the one who normally took her to her Dr. appts. I kept her placard at home in case someone else had to take her instead & most times, I wound up forgetting to grab it. That meant I had to unload her at front of the bldg. where she waited while I found a place to park. The few times I did remember it, I'd use it to park in handicap spots because it was much easier than doing it the other way (& it's what it was intended for). I'm sure there were times when I ran out to the car to get something while she was inside that people (wrongly) assumed I was one of the "abusers".

Dashannon: If your mother-in-law got out of the car with you then you had a right to use it. If you got out of the car just to run into the store and left your mother-in-law in the car you had no right to park there. You can walk!!!! I also take my mom to the store and if she is having a good day we do not park in the handi cap spot we walk if we find a space that is not to far away. Allowing someone who is having a bad day to park there. I get mad when I go into a store and see some 300 lb person on the scooters because they are too lazy to walk when I see a 80 year old man or women with a walker or cane. Especially when the 300 pound person parks it and walks to there car.

I think you either misunderstood, or I worded it confusingly. What I meant was if I'd had to run out to the car for something while she was inside the doctor's office.

For the last 3 years of her life, she was in no condition to go anywhere except to & from medical appts. so there weren't any side trips or stops at the store when she was with me.

She was a very tiny/frail lady (4'-10" & all of about 80 lbs.) who wasn't capable of ambulating on her own. And like a child, I would've NEVER parked & left her sitting in the car (even for a minute) for fear something would happen or she'd be unable to escape in an emergency.

Like I said, 9 times out of 10 I forgot the stupid thing at home so really, I rarely even used it.

Wow, some of you people are simply insane.

I have a physical disability (I know many of you are simply mental) but I have chosen not to get a disabled placard because there are a limited number of disabled spaces and there are people who are worse of than me. That is to say, I am younger and usually able to walk (at least with a cane) so I defer to my elders and others who are more ill.

What is wrong with some of you people.

If this kid purposely parked in a disabled spot he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Assaulting an peace officer (whether or not you like "meter maids") is an offense that can get one executed in some countries.

What the hell is wrong with some of you people?

I wish you would have provided a quote. I haven't seen anybody that doesn't think this punk should do prison time.

Some 300lbs folks may get that way because they have been unable to move due to other disabilities (arthritis) and/or they have serious underlying physical disabilities (besides being unable to control their hunger).

With that said, most obesity is life-style related. I am in pain 24/7 and can't move well but I am able to keep my weight reasonably under control but some people are suffering from underlying conditions (cancers) and were heavy/inactive to begin with so their destiny is to be large and not in charge.

That was a poorly written article.
quote:
The woman, who wasn't identified, then got into her vehicle and drove to a nearby spot on Silva Avenue to call police officers for help.
Was anybody else slightly confused by this? Maybe it was just because I was just skimming the article.
quote:
Arriving officers stopped the man and arrested Richard Gobeille-Peterson, 24, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
That's kind of an awkward way to say that the man was Richard Goveille-Peterson, and they arrested him.
