What is taken as common now by Medicare recipients will then be considered "elective" and rationed based on age and infirmaties...things like knee and hip replacements, organ transplants to name a few that are big deals to those who need them. Under ObamaCare, it may not be called "Death Panels", but the concept will still be there...Granny is too old to be worthy of new knees...sorry. Gramps can stay on a ventilator until he dies (or family advised to unplug him) because he is not worthy of a lung or heart transplant.

Unfortunately for Harry Reid, the Republicans do have healthcare bills. Three of them. And they have been on the table since May and June of this year. CNSNews has the list:

In May, Republicans in the House and the Senate formed a coalition to produce the130-page "Patients Choice Act of 2009."

In June, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) introduced the "Health Care Freedom Plan," a 41-page proposal.

And in July, the Republican Study Committee, under the leadership of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), unveiled the "Empowering Patients First Act," a 130-page plan.

Harry Reid is desperate. So are his Democrat friends. They know that they are losing this battle to get their healthcare plans passed. So now they are complaining that the other side doesn't even have a plan. Shouldn't we be thanking these Democrats! Oh we should be so thankful ... at least THEY have come up with plans to take over 18% of our economy! Socialized medicine.

When rationing and other more serious side effects inevitably intrude, we will see that Obama-PelosiCare’s “fairness” will be in how it makes us all equally miserable.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services does not believe that it can come up with a cost estimate for the bill before Saturday's vote. Not surprising? That's not what this is really about anyway, is it? This is about the government takeover of healthcare .. making you more dependent on government .. power. The price tag for your children and grandchildren isn't important.

Speaking of your children and grandchildren. The Cato Institute has done the research and it has determined that Obama-Pelosicare could as much as double premium costs for young Americans (25-year-olds). And you thought this was all about making healthcare more affordable?
