Analysis: True enough, if you count the White House Social Secretary and her various deputies, First Lady Michelle Obama has a paid staff of at least 22 people, according to the 2009 Annual Report to Congress on White House Staff.

However, this politically motivated screed overstates the case when it characterizes Michelle Obama's staff as "attendants" and "lackeys" who "cater to her every whim." It further exaggerates when it refers to the total number of staffers as "unprecedented."

Nearly all of these positions were established during previous administrations.
