For those of us with manually-controlled headlights, this may be a cash cow for the local law enforcement.

Thanks for the reminder.

My headlamps automatically turn on when I release my parking brake. I wish more manufacturers would make cars this way.

Actually more likely "DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS" turn on..and NOT your "Headlights/TAIL LIGHTS" ...

I cannot count the number of less than bright individuals I see each evening believing that there lights are on. In their nice new VW or Toyota or Mercedes...

When in fact ONLY the FRONT "Daytime Running Lamps" are on...NO TAIL LIGHTS turn on with these..On VERY few select models you can adjust a switch to make them ALL come on...but few people realize this..And even fewer in my experience do this. And instead drive around at night "Believing" their lights are on...because small front headlamps are on.....

All exterior lights on. Sorry. Not day time driving lights. Like VW.

Anyone driving a silver colored car, van, truck, should be aware of this. You are invisible to us when the mist rises from other cars in front of you. WE CANNOT SEE YOU!

It really GRINDS MY GEARS this one. Even the fog makes these cars invisible. Well not truly invisible but close too.

More is needed, after all this is why the law came into effect, these cars painted the color of the road and mist gray....

Both of our cars have an "Auto" setting for the lights.
The daytime lights are always on, and the rest of the lights come on when it gets twilight (including rain).
Mine also has an auto mode for the wipers that self-adjust to the water on the windshield. That's kinda cool. A little wipie, up to fast wipies when the rain gets heavier.

That way I have more time to focus on conservative talk radio while driving. Wink

All right, That's it!
Silver cars, trucks, and vans are hereby OUTLAWED from driving when ruthperson can't see them. Eeker

Ruth, I'll tell my wife she can no longer drive in the rain because RUTH can't see her in her gray car!
When she has to pick up kids from the Elementary school, she'll have to walk if it's raining.
Just so she doesn't inconvenience, or startle, Ruth. Roll Eyes

They are both stupid laws. Legislature can't solve the big problems so they dick around with silly little things like these. I suppose next year they'll ban eating a sandwich while driving...well it sounds dangerous doesn't it?

I don't care what you do in your ride. So please don't turn on you wipers or headlights, when raining.(it's your choice) I just wanted to remind most humans about the law and save a possible ticket.
The cities will be looking for extra dollars somewhere.

I believe it already is against the law to be eating and driving.
But like most laws, it's only enforced when it is convenient to do so.
$150 fine for cell phone violations where I live, and they are handing them out!

I always wear a headlight when I dive. Whether it's raining or not.

When I dive in the rain, I always have a headlight and a big knife as well.

After driving in the rain, I sometimes have to pick a squished Prius out of the front grille or the tire treads. Especially the silver-grey Priuses.
