saunterelle, you are a classic ignorant Liberal flunkie, happily gobbling up the ridiculous nonsense that Pope AlGore and his minions feed you. Here's a hint that you're lost in Left field, honey: EVERY administration is incompetent. It's called POLITICS. Are you a teenager or still in your 20s? I can't imagine anyone older than that being as naive and ignorant as your posts reflect. Try watching something besides Liberal TV. You're really embarrassing yourself here.

Your name, thewholetruth, like FOX's "fair and balanced" is so backwards and misleading that I don't know where to begin. And your personal insults, well, lets just say it's not worth my time to address them. Obviously someone as intelligent as yourself could drum up a reasonable argument for the Climate Change issue right? Then why haven't you? What you've given us is the same tired arguments that the kooky right wing talk show hosts like Rush (drug addict) Limbaugh and Mikey-boy Savage talk about day in and day out. Yet it changes nothing because it makes no sense. It isn't based upon reality. I ask you to escape your bitter, twisted, self conscious circle and join the movement to make this world a better place.

Oh where to begin saunterelle? For someone who whines so loudly at being poked you sure like to throw out the ad hominems in a feeble attempt at rebuttal.
Limbaugh and Savage. Honestly, do progressives and greens really believe that all people who have even slightly different opinions don't know how to read and research for themselves? Many of us went to college, myself included, and I haven't forgotten how to research, think critically and form my own opinions. Have your heard of Dr. Reid Bryson? He is widely recognized as the father of scientific climatology and his career in the field of climate has been both landmark and prestigious. He is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison better known as UMAD and the borthplace of the modern political correctness movement.= Dr. Bryson founded the university's Institute for Environmental Studies. Surely it would be hard to argue with his academic and scientific credentials. Well guess what. Dr. Bryson is an outspoken skeptic of the entire mythology built around anthropogenic global warming. He twisted more than a few tails last year with his sharp criticism published in his hometown newspaper. From the interview come a number of interesting nuggets in the professors own words.
As has been noted elsewhere, the amount of CO2 produced by man is fractional. Politically motivated government reports are cited, but I've not seen the hard science here in this thread. Perhaps you can come up with some saunterelle and share it with us?
And in Al Gore's world.
And there it is. As I've said here and elsewhere. Follow the money. How rich is Al Gore getting with all his "good work"? Dr. Bryson nailed it hard, right there. It really is all about the money and, for some, political power.
As they say in the newspaper business; if it bleeds, it leads. It is, thanks to caring celebrities, politicians in search of favor and a willing press to mold public opinion, very chic to be "green". As public opinion goes, so goes the money.
And in this last, doesn't that sound eerily familiar with what we've seen in this very thread? |

Noooo, that's what AlGore has done: "drum up" an argument. The truth is that the Earth has been warming up and cooling down for as long as man has recorded history, honey. No need to "drum up" an unreasonable argument based on guilt and shame which has only served to make AlGore rich, and nothing more. It's not the truth, saunterelle, which is why he "drummed it up".
The truth doesn't need to be "drummed up" sauterelle. The truth just is.
I've already joined such a movement, and it doesn't include hanging out with Chicken Little and people haters.

When Chicken Little runs in and says "The Globe is warming" the lemmings of the world shout "It's our fault, we will repent on the altar of the Gore and pay him for our carbon." Reasonable minds say, "Wow, a talking chicken", and show him to the science books that show the globe has been heating and cooling for a billion years. Then they send him out to peck his face against the ground until the next hysteria hits.
If you took every human in the world and put them shoulder to shoulder, they would occupy the city limits of Jacksonville Floriday. If you gave them all 100 square feet, they occupy the state of Texas. It is monumentally arrogant to think this speck on the planet, short of blowing up 500 nukes, can noticabley effect the climate. It's like 2 hairs on the tail of an elephant arguing over which one is causing the elephant to sweat. |

You people are delusional. This isn't about following Gore, it's about heeding the advice of most of the world's scientists. They are smarter than me, they are smarter than you, and they have nothing to gain from making their predictions.
You're trying to politicize the issue when it has nothing to do with politics. Bush is on board, McCain is on board, Obama is on board, Gore just happens to be the face of the movement. Get over it! If you'd read the objective study our own government did you'd learn the science behind it. |

okay, i can't hold off anymore. i gotta get a word or two in on one of the most goofy and phony histeria's of our time....global warming. ooops, i mean climate change or whatever fits the agenda these days.
i'm actually in favor of a little global warming. think of how many extra beach days we could have each year. al gore is a huckster. anyone who convinces you that the way you live your life is wrong and that in order to fix the problems you must PAY him (or one of his companies) is a scam artist. anyone who tells you that you must trim your use of fossils fuels and himself jets around the world burning more fossil fuel in one trip than your SUV would burn in 20 years is a scam artist. anyone who convinces the world that he deserves a nobel peace prize for creating a powerpoint slideshow is a scam artist. jim jones disguised the bitter taste of cyanide with sweet cherry kool-aid. al gore doesn't use kool-aid but is still doing very much the same thing. drink up! to think that we little humans can impact the world climate with our daily lives is akin to believing that pissing in the pacific ocean will somehow turn the tide. I am going to make the world a better place. I am going to ignore global climate change horse-pucky & live my life w/o fear or regret. I am going to increase my carbon footprint until it dwarfs the meaningless symbolic "sustainable" actions of as many saunterelles as possible. As the years pass, I will recline comfortably on my Redwood deck w/my 3 fireplaces smouldering away & laugh out loud at the next & latest enviro-disaster being hawked by the chicken-littles of the anti-American left. Make no mistake. This is; has been & will always be a political rather than a scientific issue. That is why gutless pol's like McCain jump on the issue; they pander to voters 'cuz re-election is far more important than protecting & defending the greatest nation in world history- the USA.

Wow you guys are blind! You won't listen to thousands of scientist who agree on this issue yet I'm sure you bought into Bush's war hook, line, and sinker! Thanks for helping plunge us into recession.
You see, we see what we want to see and right now you're not seeing reality. You're living in a selfish, defensive, fantasy world where terrorists are around every corner. Poor fools. |

And...Loving it!

It all depends on your point of view. You read those studies and take it all as fact. You ignore the words, "possible", "may", "could"... I am a rational person who can read and comprehend what I am reading. The Kyoto Accord was written and states that the 1st world countires must finance the industrial development of the 3rd world countries to affect carbon emmissions. Not reduce, affect. To all of those countries, they will say anything to get those trillions.... Scientists in this country have been threatened with firing if they discount Global Warming/Climate Change. I saw those interviews.
Now everyone on both side could be lying or guessing. The Ice Age scare of the 70's did not occurre. Now the same industry, some scientists, are saying it is really global warming. There was a movie made about global warming and there are now a total of 16 major points that have been proven to be false, or events actually faked to make more of it that it is. I dont like liars, I dont believe liars. Bush included, lame duck. Don't piss down my back and tell me that it's raining. Last I heard it was about 40% of scientists believed man was contributing to global warming. About 30% think man is not at all responsible and 30% had no opinion because there wasn't enough evidence. Remember, no record heat in over 10 years now. 95% of glaciers are growing and there is more snow in the arctic now than ever before. Weather changes people. I like the statement made earlier, How can you trust someone about a 50 or 100 year prediction when they can't predict the weather 3 days out? |

why is it that whiney liberals never fail to bring "bush's war" into every topic. tell me what this has to do with global warming? just like global warming you've also swallowed the recession lie hook, line, and sinker. the econ is certainly sluggish but you probably should at least consult webster on what recession really is. if you need an example just look at the one created at the end of the clinton administration and handed to GWB. it also amazes me that you believe the "overwhelming majority" of scientists who say there is man-made global warming but you obviously didn't believe the overwhelming majority of scientist, politicians (including kerry, clinton, kennedy, etc.) who believed iraq was a threat to the world. It will be enjoyable hearing the climate change chorus fading into the breeze as it's greatest beneficiaries stammer & cough when challenged to "put up or...". After being cross-examined in arenas that matter..like the courts, or in elections..perhaps we'll see a moderation in the shrieking panic that motivates public policy & defines the movement's message itself.
No amount of reason or evidence convinces true believers of the error of their crusade. For evidence, see Hamas; Hezbollah; Arafat's PLO or Al Queda. Fortunately, our zealots don't have to be dealt with in as harsh a manner, as their conviction is born significantly of excessive comfort & privilege. Usually, when their elite positions are debunked, they can move seamlessly to their next contrarian entrenchment. Fortified by ego & enlightenment, the annointed will, once again declare society hopelessly unfair & malevolent. For evidence see Michell Obama. For me, the fun is in seeing this movie play over & over again. The interesting part is, what will the bad actors introduce as this season's bogeyman? The predictable part is the role of the villain-America every time. The satisfying part is seeing them inevitably laughed off the stage. |

Well, I just increased the size of my carbon foot print significantly. Went to a civil war reenactment, as well as the school program on Friday. Must burned through about 30 pounds of powder. And now it has started cooling off.
So, lets see, heat wave before the event, and the first day of it. Towards the end we saw a cooling trend starting. The way Al and Mikey do 'research' I oould use that to show a global cooling trend. subjoe Justice Robert H. Well this should get some progressive and green hued knickers in a wad... presuming the mainstream media actually picks the ball up and runs with it.
Will someone from the left, at long last, step up and admit the truth? That Al Gore's crusade is a scam? I expect not, and what we will be greeted with in response will be calls of moonbattery on the part of the eeeee-vil global warming deniers. |
