You people (GW activists) need to get a life. There are real problems to deal with in society, and you are using resources which could be put towards a concrete end by chasing your pie-in-the-sky / Chicken Little issue.

One decent volcano puts more junk in the air than the entire civilization of man.

You Sir are exactly correct. More than anything this theory has enabled some governments to try to change world economics. In the U.S. it started with Bill Clinton and Al Gore. This administration began the environmental regulatory shut down of American business and the encouragement of off shore industry process.

Today, there are 3 actual steel mills operating within the U.S., 1 is owned by Japan and one is owned by the Germans. Our industry for making mechanical products and textiles is almost non existent.

In our own backyard...
The portland cement being used for the 101 widening is produced in China and the aggragate comes from British Columbia. The rebar comes from China.

We have been sold a false bill of goods under the guise of environmental concern, the profiteers are the trade partners chosen in the 1997 free trade agreement.(China,India,Canada and Mexico)..... they have little or no environmental regulation.

We demand our industry back so we can have security and quality of life within our own Country. Those who have sold it off under false pretenses should be locked up.

There is nothing as humiliating to a family than to loose their ability to provide for themselves.

“Exactly” is all inclusive. His volcano assertion is pure BS, and thus nullifies the validity of your whole statement.

Furthermore:

The American steel industry began serious collapse in the 1970s.

The last major amendments to the Clean Air Act were in 1990 under the term of GHW Bush.

Although cleaner air is without a doubt a factor in the US steel industry’s demise, cheaper labor cost off shore is the primary cause.

But don’t let logic, facts or the expectation to stay on topic get in the way of a good rant fiscal.

Be green, buy US steel

Arch Stanton, thanks for posting actual science behind your arguments instead of the hyperbole by these commentators with an axe to grind.

I mean, what effect do you think the 26.9 billion tonnes of CO2 humans emit has? Nothing?

Oh I agree.Pollution is good!Who needs a clean planet? We should roll back all of the environmental standards imposed by these enviro-faccists and create a new energy based on black soot creating coal and radiation laden nuclear power.
Who cares if we pollute the oceans and contaminate the air? It's good for the planet.Let's cut down the remaining old growth trees and burn them to heat our houses.
Who cares what ten or fifteen thousand of the world's most imminent scientists say on the subject. What do those egg heads know?
Ugh, cough, cough, choke...excuse me.
Hey, what's happening? The polar ice caps are melting? When did that start? Nobody told me that was happening...

About 18,000 years ago. There was a drastic warming trend as increased solar energy warmed the oceans, melting the ice. The greatest melting occurred before 6,000 years ago and the oceans have risen about 400 feet. We are at the tail end of the process now and can expect this perfectly normal, natural cycle to reverse itself in the near future if it hasn't already.

The demonstrated effect is increased plant growth and increased water efficiency in plants. CO2 is the primary food of our ecosystem and, as a trace gas, the plants are starving for it.

As we know, CO2 is insignificant in atmospheric heat retention. That's why the Sahara goes from 120 degrees in the daytime to freezing at night - the CO2 can't trap heat even for a few hours much less for a long period of time.

Water vapor is the greenhouse gas, accounting for about 95% of the atmosphere's heat retention capability.

More CO2 makes a more green planet.
