"A Lake County dentist acted in self-defense this weekend when he shot and critically wounded his estranged wife, who was coming at him with a pickax, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Department."
Barry, Hill, The Divine Ms. Di, Babs, Lynn, and all the other progressive nanny-state fascists would rather that he be dead than have the ability to defend himself effectively. How dare he use an evil firearm. Those should be reserved for agents of the all powerful State.

He should have retreated and fled the house for safety. He should have talked her down from her rage, or he could have called a mental health professional for assistance, they would have been on the scene before anything could happen, right? He could have sidestepped the first swing of the pickaxe and casually disarmed her. But noooo. He had to shoot her. Well at least proved once and for all its possible to shoot to wound. Now we just need to train all the police officers in this technique of firing the disabling neck shot.
You realize that the humor impared leftists, um, progressives here in Sonoma county will think you are serious, Crossride. You forgot to put little smilies or grins in your post. Most of them can't recognize sarcasm or satire when they see or hear it.
Glad I wasn't drinking something when I read your post - would have ruined my laptop.

"Why did you shoot him six times?" goes the old question. The answer is, often, "because my gun doesn't hold seven bullets."
The leftist, utopia seeking elitists who run so many things (like this county) don't understand that for those rare times when talking, begging, pleading, wetting your pants while running away or cowering in fear hoping fervently to not get killed won't work... one sometimes has to use overwhelming and lethal force to end the threat.

Sort of. That little event saved millions of lives. Figure that if the Allies had invaded the Home Islands of ***an (PD, why can't we use the proper name for that country?) we would have made what Rome did to Carthage look like a love pat.
