Greetings to those followings local/county politics.

Who are the Republicans/Indpendents running against Thompson and Woolsey in 2010? Can they win?

Do you have any ideas who should run?

I think a discussion should be opened about this topic as removing these two from office is the only way some positive change will happen in Sonoma County?

Keep screaming until the revolution starts!

Best...

What about that kid from the winery in Healdsburg? Last name starts with an F?

Greetings...

Thanks for response.

1. Don from Omlette Express has expressed no interest in running for any office...no even on forums or blogs.

2. I am familiar with Healdsburg and know of no such "kid" from the wine industry with an interst in being politically involved.

3. This forum question is indicative of the shallowness of people who want conservative change but have no one in mind to vote for. This is why liberals and special interests win elections.

Please keep the post active.

Best..

The revolution will be happening at the state level not the federal and it be a centralist revolt against the liberals and conservatives.

Next June there will be a proposition on the ballot that would allow any registered voter to cast a ballot for any candidate in a primary. The two candidates – regardless of party – who receive the most votes would square off in the November general election.

That's interesting to know...but the question WHO is running on the conservative side and if none what are the qualities and experince you would like in a candidate.

Republicans messed up big time in 2008 by electing McCain in the primaries - but let's be real. The TRUE conservatives voted for someone other than McCain (Romney?) and ended up splitting the conservative vote, thereby allowing McCain to gain the spot. Being a conservative, man oh man, voting for an old, out of touch (republican?) was a bitter pill to swallow. McCain was a joke and their campaign was handled poorly. Conservatives have got to get it together and STOP with the abortion thing. It's legal - get over it all ready. We need to focus on fiscal responsibility (yes, Bush totally blew that one), and get this country back. The road we are going down is a road to ruin. There are no jobs out there (I know - I'm unemployed and many of my friends are as well), foreclosures are continuing, and people are scared to spend any money. If trust and confidence isn't there we aren't going to get out of this mess any time soon. And Obama is not helping. He is incompetent, naive, and totally out of his league. I just hope Americans catch on to this guy sooner rather than later.

I am worried that Woolsey's going to be in for a very long time. People are stupid and they will continue to vote for this woman mainly because of name recognition - plus she promises all the goodies. I once saw her soliciting for campaign money at Oliver's on Montecito. Amazing that she had the nerve to go to an upper middle class neighborhood asking for money - what a total hypocrite. I guess it's where she can "soak the rich" and get some extra dough at the same time. Disgusting.

Tradequeen, I applaud you! I'd hire you if I had a biz. Good luck with finding work. I agree 100%. You'll find work, keep up the job search daily, and yes, I voted for Romney, and I'm pretty sure he can win in 2012. Hang in there!

Actually McCain was nominated by crossover Democrats and independents. McCain lost in ever state that had a closed primary.

But that doesn't answer poor Big Fish's question. The problem is there just isn't a conservative of any stature left in this part of the state. The North Coast should be grateful for Thompson, a true Blue Dog and about as conservative a Democrat you'll find on this left side of the nation.

Thanks Tradequeen and srk....

I agree with TQ and this is my point...there are no conservatives or people with common sense running for office and yet we have to vote in 2010 to change the liberal assault.

srk....Thompson has voted for every illegal alien program and is in the pocket of the liberal democrats. He's blue dog when he can fake it or when issue is little consequence. He was in the 101st Airborne and he clearly has let his countrymen, buddies and taxpayers down. Check his record.

He's got to go and so does Woolsey. My point with this forum is there is alott of forums, columns, letters, etc. but no one stepping up to plate to even challenge the liberal demos.

No poster has answered the question of what qualities in a candidate would you vote for if he/she had no name recognition.

Thanks mrbose. I have the link and am actice as much as I can to stop the madness and throw the bums out.

This is my point in this forum. Sonoma County voters including the intelligent conversative posters here do not anyone to mention that will replace our congressional and senatorila bums and traitors.

Keep screaming until the revoultion starts.

There is no way a republican would ever have a chance. It would have to be a libertarian or independent with conservative leanings. But remember, anyone who DARES to go against a dem in this area will have the hounds out for them to dig under every little rock. To be honest, I don't think anyone with any brains would want to put themselves or their family up to that kind of scrutiny - you are doomed if you go against the liberal machine, and I think most people just want to live their life and take care of their families without the hassle.

TQ....thanks for honest reply.

Don't you feel the tides are turning a bit here in Sonoma County. My sense even the liberals(at th eintelligent wealthy ones) who voted for Obummer are watching a slow surrender of death to their society. They realize they are ruining their kids and grandkids lives.

I think your right...an Independent is the way to go.

Any thoughts welcome.

Best...
