First, this forum is not just intended to intergrate with the Press Democrat website well, it is intended to load software on your system if you join.

That is right. I have verified that the Press Democrat uses some of the most malicous web tracking software available today. Zedo.com, 2o7.net and ad.yieldmanager.com are three I have personally verified and found being used on their site.

Just having the Press Democrat webpage open will then cause their software to attempt to load, even if it is blocked. This will cause a slow down in your system resources, which slows down your system. This activity is unacceptable, and should be outlawed. My resources are my resources, not the Press Democrats. And even if the Press Democrat does not sell your data, you can bet that the software companies that own the software they use compile their own database of information for their own purpose.

Use Firefox and bounce the Press Democrats software. Sure, you won't be able to use these forums or post a comment on a story, but your resources are worth more then that.

Take action and let these thieves of other peoples resources know you do not like their underhanded approach to business. This is not New York City, it is California.
